FFHS - supporting family historians for over 40 years

Northants Manorial Documents Register

manorial document

With the help of funding from FFHS, the National Archives has updated the Manorial Documents Register for Northamptonshire. The Register for this and most other counties in England & Wales is now easy to search online. It reveals the contents and locations of a vast range of sources that can help us find out more about our forebears. An overview of the documents involved can be seen on the TNA website.

The Northamptonshire Family History Society also has much to offer those interested in research in that county.

FamilySearch moves on from microfilm

film vault

Many of us have made discoveries in microfilms at a FamilySearch Centre. The microfilm service will come to an end on 31 August, as most of the images are now available online with more to be added soon. The Centres will remain open, offering free access to the online images and to other resources, as well as advice from the volunteer staff.

You can read more on the FamilySearch website.
